Novato Youth Soccer
Looking For Director Of Coaching
Novato
Youth Soccer Association
Establishment
of a
Director
of Coaching Position
The Novato Youth Soccer Association (NYSA)
has over 1,800 boys and girls participating in its House (recreational) and
Competitive programs. There are approximately 125 House teams, boys and girls,
starting at U-6 and progressing through U-19. In addition, the Competitive
program has 13, boys and girls, Upper House (Class III) teams and 8, boys and
girls, Select (Class I) teams. NYSA is a member of the very competitive CYSA
District Five. Its competitive program competes against teams from other
district leagues such as Mill Valley, Central Marin, Petaluma, Santa Rosa, Windsor,
and Napa.
The NYSA Board has voted unanimously to
explore the hiring of a paid Director of Coaching. The Board looks to create
and implement a three-five year plan to upgrade the quality of its coaching,
training, playing and refereeing in its league, both at the House and at the
Competitive levels. It is intended for the Director of Coaching to work with
the Board to establish this long-range plan and to help in its implementation.
The NYSA Board has created a D.O.C.
Selection Committee. That committee will consider proposals from all qualified
candidates. The NYSA Board is open to establishing the D.O.C. position as
either a part-time or a full-time opportunity.
All interested candidates are required to
submit a letter of introduction, with their resumes, to Alan Wnuk, Vice
President of the Traveling Teams, at alanwnuk@yahoo.com.
Alan will distribute those applications to the entire D.O.C. Selection
Committee for review and consideration. The Committee will in turn contact the
applicant for further discussion. Candidates should state their experience, as
well as their proposals for helping the NYSA Board to achieve its goals of an
improved program for both its House and Competitive programs.
Applications are currently being accepted
and reviewed. Please submit your letter, and resume, immediately for prompt
consideration. First priority will be given to applications received by
December 8, 2002.
